Frequently asked questions
Will the spacing actually be right when I print it?+
Yes, as long as you print at 100% and not “fit to page” — that setting rescales the sheet, and a 5mm grid comes out at 4.7mm. The PDF is drawn in real millimetres and every template stays clear of the margin no consumer printer can reach, so nothing gets clipped at 100%.
Why generate these instead of downloading a PDF?+
Because the useful version is almost never the one someone has already made. 5mm graph paper is a file you can find; 6mm graph paper on US Letter with a heavier line every four squares is not, and printing the 5mm one at 120% to fake it scales the margins off the page too.
Does this upload anything?+
No. The PDF is drawn in your browser and the preview is that same file, opened by your own PDF viewer. Nothing is sent anywhere and no account is needed.
Can I use these commercially — in a classroom, or in a product?+
Yes. They're plain geometry with no watermark and no attribution requirement. Print them, hand them out, bind them into a workbook and sell it.
