Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between badges and desk tents?+

Badges are rectangles you cut out and pin, clip or stick to a person. Desk tents are strips you fold in half along the middle so they stand up on a table by themselves — the usual choice for a first day, a parents evening or any situation where you need to read a name from across a room.

Why does badges across do nothing when I pick desk tents?+

Because a tent has to fold into something that stands up, and a half-width one falls over. Tents are always laid out full width, one per row, so the columns setting is ignored rather than quietly producing something that will not stand. Use the rows setting to control how many you get per sheet.

Why does each tent have two writing lines?+

A desk tent is read from both sides — the class sees one face and you see the other. There is a rule in each half so the name can be written twice, once each way up. The dashed line across the middle is where to fold.
