About this seating chart

Frequently asked questions

What does pushed together in pairs change?+

It closes the gap between alternate desks so they touch, while keeping them as two separate boxes. That matters when you are reading the chart: two desks pushed together is a different arrangement from one double desk, and you still need to see which child is sitting on which side of it.

Why is there a marker for the front of the room?+

Because reading a seating chart upside down is the single easiest mistake to make with one, and you are usually holding it while facing the class. The dashed line and label at the foot fix the orientation so you know whether the left of the page is the left of the room or your left. Turn it off if you would rather add your own.

Where do the names go on each desk?+

On a rule near the foot of the box rather than floating in the middle of it. Handwriting sits on a line or it wanders, and a chart you fill in at speed the week before term is exactly the situation where it wanders.
