Which formats can it convert between?+
Text-based documents including TXT, HTML and Markdown, plus extraction from PDF. For Word specifically, the dedicated Word to PDF tool gives a better result.
Is my document uploaded?+
No. Conversion runs in this tab; the file never leaves your machine.
Why not DOCX or PDF?+
Because those carry layout that plain text cannot hold, so the conversion would quietly lose things. For those pairs use PDF to Word, DOCX to PDF or PDF to Text, each of which is built for the specific conversion rather than pretending every format converts to every other.
Will my formatting survive?+
Structure survives — headings, lists, links, emphasis and code blocks all map across the three formats. Anything that is purely visual, like a specific font or a page break, does not, because none of these formats stores it.
